![]() ![]() In fact, God, the ruler of Order, uses primitive chaos to give rise to creation, bringing the non-thing into existence, and order from disorder. In religions, primordial chaos is normally the building block that the being of order uses to create the universe, with the body of primitive chaos being the foundation of the cosmos. ![]() The multiverse could be said to exist within the primordial void body that is Khaos. When the Lord then created the light, the stars and everything in the cosmos, the primal void was filled by billions of bubbles, filling Khaos' body, which consequently caused Khaos to become the gap between dimensions such as Heaven and Hell, also being the " dark void" behind the stars. In the War, Khaos created the Primordials, better known as Protogenoi, primitive amthropormophic personifications of concepts and ideas that did not yet exist and were in their most basic and simple state, such as Dʰéǵʰōm (Earth), Dyēus (Sky), Tartarus (Underworld), Nyx (Night), Erebus (Darkness), Amor (Love), and Chronos (Time).Īfter the War ended, Khaos entered a state of deep hibernation, having remained unconscious for billions of years, even before the First Day of Creation. When the Lord wanted to start Creation, the Guardian of the Abyss, living up to his title, did not want to allow the Resplendent Yesh to create the universe, going to war with the Almighty. Ayin, Khaos and The Darkness, the three main manifestations of Overvoid, and the eternal arch-rivals of God. Not much is known about the origins of Khaos, but it is believed that at the beginning when the universe was in its primal state plunged inside a primordial soup of antimatter, was when Khaos appeared.Īt the beginning the world was in its most primitive and chaotic state, with temperatures comparable to Absolute Heat, which was then cooled by the chaotic waters of Zero Absolute, that is, Khaos, which thus allowed the emergence of The Darkness, the last to precede God. Khaos is one of the first Pre-existentials Entities to come into being, being even older than God Himself and His wife Barbelo. Khaos is paganism, heresy and pagan idolatry personified, the source of all witchcraft and heresy. Khaos is also the ancestor of all gods worshiped of paganism and polytheism, that is, the worship and claiming of gods other than Yesh. Khaos precedes Order (Cosmos), being the primordial "void" from which everything came, and to which everything will inevitably return, only to start again in a new cycle. Khaos is the world in its unfinished state. In the Myths, Khaos is the primordial source of all things, being also the state in which the entire Universe was in its primeval state. ![]() They are one of the original members of the Three Great Titans of Creation. They were self-created with the purpose of being the bridge between the Heavens and the Earth and between the celestials and humanity, thus partly reduced the amount of paperwork the angels required to do. They are the God/Goddess of Nothingness, Oblivion, the Void, and the Abyss. The primeval void became the Primordial Entity that rules the void and the abyss, becoming the creator of the Primordials. Khaos, also known as Chaos, the Guardian of the Abyss, Shadow of God, or Parent of the Parentless, is the Primordial Deity who embodies the Void without form and void that existed before the creation of the Multiverse. There are no street side screaming matches, no ice cream cones shoved in each other's faces, no bickering. Instead of focusing on, or even mentioning, disagreements between the two, the author focuses on the growth and maturity of their love. That doesn't seem to be the message Sparks's original book was trying to send. It says to the viewer, like so many other toxic on-screen or in-book relationships do, that strong love, true love, is born out of conflict. The movie again reinforces the dangerous notion that relationships are stronger if the people in them have gone through hell and back with or for one another. ![]() In its portrayal of their conflicts, the film pairs each fight with upbeat music and subsequent shots of them making up, so it appears the fighting is romantic. They fight constantly, openly argue in front of others, and even get into physical altercations on the street. In the film, after Noah finally convinces Allie to go on a date with him - again, by threatening to harm himself and possibly others below by jumping of a damn Ferris wheel - its unsurprising to learn that their relationship is tumultuous, to say the very least. The movie adaptation of The Notebook doesn't stop tainting the original love story at the carnival, not even close. So why then did Hollywood decide to change a seemingly innocent love story into one filled with volatility, abuse, and obsession? As they say in the business, drama sells, but it also reinforces dangerous stereotypes about gender dynamics and power structures in romantic relationships. From that sweet, antic-free evening, a stable and heartfelt relationship is born, one without all the fighting, crying, and jealousy you see play out on screen. In fact, in the book, there is far less drama: Noah and Allie have a normal interaction when they meet, and spend the entire night together at the carnival, no Ferris wheel stunts needed. In Sparks' original novel, the start of Allie and Noah's doesn't play out in the same way. He essentially bullies Allie into dating him, a common trope in movies and books that buy into the "it's all about the chase" ideology that puts women in incredibly uncomfortable, even dangerous situations. Not only is Noah continually trying to pressure Allie into dating him, but his threats on the Ferris wheel reinforces the toxic belief that when men act badly, dangerously, or irresponsibly, the women they love (or are attracted to) are to blame. Upon closer look, though, they can be seen for what they really are: coercion, harassment, and emotional abuse. It took reading Sparks' original novel, and growing up a bit, to recognize, but now that I see Noah for what he is - an obsessive creep with a penchant for dramatic, unwanted gestures and an inability to take no for an answer - I can't stop thinking about my original interpretation of The Notebook and why I so wrongly believed it to be a true love story.Īt first glance and from far away, Noah's actions seem like a grand romantic gesture, one that would many anyone swoon. But underneath Gosling's washboard abs and McAdam's winning smile lurks a much more problematic narrative. If you, like me, saw Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling's movie version of The Notebook first, chances are it swept you off your feet, and how could it not? On the surface, it's a sweet love story about a second chance romance between two attractive characters you certainly don't mind looking. Listen, I understand this might not be the most popular opinion. In fact, I think it's finally time we talk about how Noah from The Notebook was actually a total creep. But then I actually read Nicholas Sparks's novel, and without Ryan Gosling's dreamy face and gorgeous body to distract me, I quickly realized the romantic hero of the film, my romantic hero, wasn't a hero at all. For the rest of the summer, I obsessed over the incredible love story of Noah and Allie, so much so that I even made my mom take me to the bookstore so I could get my hands on the original source material. I walked out of the theater, still wiping tears from my naïve little eyes, thinking that The Notebook was perhaps the most romantic thing I had ever seen. Young, impressionable, and obsessed with the notion of true love and second chances, I saw the movie in its opening weekend with a group of girlfriends who sobbed during it as often as I did. When The Notebook hit theaters in the summer of 2004, I was just about to enter my freshman year in high school. ![]() ![]() Heeve Yard Ramps are most often made to order with a 6-10-week lead time. I remember it being difficult at first, but using it is like breathing for me now – I don’t have to really think about it, it just happens. I’ve used Photoshop for the last 10 years. Your edge control – which is super critical as an illustrator – will be on another level with Clip Studio Paint’s tool. Photoshop paint mixing is more like pulling paint into each other while Clip Studio is a true blend. This isn’t something you have to get used to, you’ll feel it. And trust me, you’ll know right away what I’m talking about. I can’t really explain to you why the blend tool feels so amazing on Clip Studio and why its Photoshop equivalent, the mixer brush, feels so terrible. When I tried the Clip Studio Blending Tool … you know when you suddenly see a “God Ray” come down, seemingly from Heaven, and you hear that angelic AAAAHHH? It felt like that. I always imagined what blending paint should feel like as a digital artist, and Photoshop’s Mixer Brush always felt so uncomfortable. Where Photoshop feels like I’m pulling paint unnaturally, Clip Studio made blending feel easy and instinctual. The reason I’m drawn to Clip Studio and captivated by the program is the blending tool. And as a digital artist, I want the program that will allow me to express my vision as seamlessly as possible. Since every studio uses the Adobe suite, it can feel like Photoshop is the smart solution for digital art - but that doesn’t mean it’s the best one. Digital drawing and painting was synonymous with Photoshop. Pretty much every major studio was using the Adobe Creative Suite to create the next generation of media and entertainment. By 2012, Adobe had launched the Creative Cloud and with it, its suite of landmark industry applications. The digital art software landscape in 2012 may have been the launch for Clip Studio, but it was 18 years after Craig Mullins started using Photoshop for all his digital commercial artwork. It was designed for painting, and the tools cater to that workflow – making digital painting feel effortless. Digital Painting may not have been on Adobe’s radar, but it was the force behind the creation of Clip Studio. ![]() And the best part was that they could take advantage of all the advancements drawing software had made over the years while innovating many of their own.Īgain, the important distinction here was their primary focus – digital artists. It was great timing, because even though Adobe was dominating the digital art market, there was rising demand for digital illustrations. Originally, their parent company Celsys was looking to help animators, then comic artists, and finally illustrators. The rise of Clip Studio PaintĬlip studio, on the other hand, was built with a primary focus towards digital art. Adobe got the jump on any competitors and created more programs designed to help all aspects of the design industry – Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, and After Effects to name a few. Over time, they developed tools that were mutually beneficial to illustrators and photographers, but the primary focus has always been towards photo editing. Layers were game-changing for editing photos, but even more so for digital illustrations.ĭigital painting wasn’t on Adobe’s radar because it simply didn’t exist like we know it today. I’m guessing that had something to do with it. ![]() That’s the year they invented layers in Photoshop, by the way. Craig Mullins – one of first digital artists and widely considered the father of Digital Painting – was painting digitally for 10 years with a mouse before he switched to completely digital in 1994. Photoshop wasn’t built for digital artists, but that hasn’t stopped illustrators from using it from the beginning. You can use Photoshop to paint and Clip Studio to edit a photo, but there are fundamental differences between the two because of their focus. The important distinction between Photoshop and Clip Studio is what they were built for. Clip Studio Paint was designed for artists Adobe Photoshopīefore we go any further, I want you to understand why I tortured myself to learn a new program when I was perfectly capable of using Photoshop, and why I think you should too. Hopefully, I can help you skip all that and show you how to quickly adopt the tools of Clip Studio Paint to create your own works of art. I may be a lot more comfortable using Clip Studio now, but it had some intense growing pains. It’s incredibly scary to learn a new program – especially one with a steep learning curve. ![]() ![]() ![]() Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
